This rule applies to color of your outfit, wearing during jeep safari or foot safaris. Regarding outfit color, we should avoid shiny or reflective or attractive clothes during safari drives or nature walks. We often notice that despite of slow movement of your safari vehicle, or while standing still at jungle, birds and animals often ran way and disappear from sight. For wildlife lovers especially wildlife photographers, such moments are really very disappointing and this often made us think that how we have disturbed them ? In majority of such cases, we are responsible for such disappointing moments. Unknowingly we have attracted their attention and made them uncomfortable due to which they decided to move away from sight or maintain more distance from us. Sometime it is our striking clothing color, using or any strong perfume or our loud voice. such reflective or colors often diverts or attracts wild animals & birds attention which may become cause them leaving the place. Clothes color should be matching with surroundings like dark green, muddy-brown and rocky-grey are the ideal clothing color. Cotton or linen outfits are always considered good for wildlife safaris. As safari track inside Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve are on raw earth so safari is often dusty so clothing should be decided accordingly. Prefer to wear cloths that are comfortable to wear and cover most of the body parts especially during safaris in summers as straight sunlight often make you feel itching in uncovered skin. Full-sleeve outfits help to avoid dust on skin that often faced during safari especially when you are following safari vehicle. Some other important things to carry for safaris are Cap or Hat, sun-glasses, camera covers, water-bottles, binocular, sufficient camera memory-cards. Although these items are not part of clothing but often proves very helpful during safari.
During jungle safari in Bandhavgarh National Park it is important to wear clothing as per season. National park is open for visitors from October . During this time, you will be introduced to high grassland area, dense bushes and wetland areas inside reserve. Climate remain cool. In the month of October & November, temperature remains in between approx. 22 to 35 ° Celsius so a pair of woolen outfits may do the work. In winter months December-January-February, temperature ranges between 2 to 8 degree Celsius during morning game drives and in afternoon safari temperature ranges between 15 to 20 degree Celsius. So accordingly we can arrange the woolen outfits to cope with the chilling breeze during open safari jeep rides. At the threshold of Summers, during March their is no need to keep woolen outfits in day-time but of course we may require thick clothing in morning safari. From the month of April to June, pair of cotton garments (with light colors) are the most suitable outfits to wear which covers most of the body part as straight sunlight causes itching effect on skin.
