Khajuraho Temples

Khajuraho Temples Tourism Khajuraho temples are located in North of Madhya Pradesh state in Central India. Khajuraho temples are included in must see tourist attractions of India and through out the year, tourists keep visiting these heritage temples. Khajuraho temples are made by Chandela rulers in 9th and 10th century during their rule. Recognizing its importance, art, sculpture work, UNESCO has declared Khajuraho Western group of temples as World Heritage Site. It is 250kms North-West of Bandhavgarh national park. It is popular for art & sculptures work performed on sand-stone temples built in 9th to 11th century during rule of Chandela dynasty. Their were more than 100 such temples but after the demolishment by Muslim forces and due to weather cause, only 22 such temples left. Now they are well preserved and maintained. Outer walls of temples depicts hindu god & goddesses along with some images on eroticism. Here mainly temples belongs to Hindu religion but their are some beautiful Jain temples also in eastern group.
